Warner Bros. heeft bevestigd dat Zack Snyders Man of Steel in 3D en IMAX zal worden uitgebracht.

Het nieuws was deze zomer per ongeluk al gelekt op de website van IMAX, waar het vervolgens snel weer ingetrokken werd. Nu is het bericht echter officieel bevestigd in een persbericht van de productiemaatschappij. De film over Superman zal daarnaast ook gewoon in 2D te zien zijn. 

Regisseur Zack Snyder zegt daarbij: “The film is going to be a visually exciting experience in all formats: 2D, 3D and IMAX. Anticipating how audiences today embrace 3D, we designed and photographed the movie in a way that would allow ‘Man of Steel’ to captivate those movie goers, while respecting fans who prefer a more traditional cinematic experience. We’ve taken great measures to ensure the film and the story come first, and 3D is meant as an enhancement.”

Naast Henry Cavill in de rol van de beroemde superheld, zullen veel succesvolle acteurs in de film verschijnen, zoals Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe en Kevin Costner, die allen een Oscar of Oscarnominatie op hun naam hebben staan.

Man of Steel zal 14 juni 2013 worden uitgebracht.
