Ricky Gervais in The Muppets 2

De komiek Ricky Gervais zal de hoofdrol vertolken in The Muppets 2.

De sequel van The Muppets lijkt een vervanger te hebben gevonden voor Jason Segel. De Britse komiek Ricky Gervais, bekend van tv-series als The Office en Extras, wordt genoemd als hoofdrolspeler.

De nieuwe Muppets-film zal zich in Europa afspelen. Eerder al werd Ty Burrell gecast als slechterik. Hij krijgt nu het gezelschap van Gervais. De casting van de Brit is opmerkelijk aangezien hij in tegenstelling tot zijn voorganger niet geneigd is om snel sentimenteel of vriendelijk over te komen.

The Muppets 2 wordt in de Verenigde Staten op 20 december 2013 in de bioscoop verwacht.
