Dwayne Johnson mogelijk in sequel Journey to the Center of the Earth

Het was al langer duidelijk dat er een vervolg op Journey to the Center of the Earth uit 2008 zou komen, en volgens SlashFilm is Dwayne Johnson nu in gesprek om een rol te vertolken in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.

Dwayne JohnsonBrendan Fraser, die in het eerste deel samen met Josh Hutcherson de tocht ondernam, zal niet terugkeren in deel 2.

Het verhaal van de film is losjes gebaseerd op het boek The Mysterious Island van Jules Verne. Hutcherson en Johnson zullen afreizen naar een mysterieus eiland om daar op zoek te gaan naar Hutcherson's grootvader.

Net als de eerste Journey zal ook deze film in 3D worden opgenomen.
