Het International Film Festival Rotterdam biedt in de hoofdsectie Spectrum films van ervaren regisseurs en maestro’s van de artistieke en experimentele cinema.

Spectrum omvat tweeënzeventig speelfilms en documentaires uit tweeëndertig landen. Bezoekers kunnen onder andere kijken naar A Dangerous Method van regisseur David Cronenberg, Shame van Steve McQueen, Wuthering Heights van Andrea Arnold, The Descendants van Alexander Payne, Ace Attorney van Miike Takashi, Le Havre van Aki Kaurismäki, 11 Flowers van Wang Xiaoshuai en I Wish van Kore-eda Hirokazu.
