De eigenzinnige Wesley Wales Anderson komt op 1 mei 1969 ter wereld in Houston, Texas. Hij begint als kind al te experimenteren met Super 8. Op de universiteit raakt hij bevriend met Owen Wilson en de twee beginnen al snel korte films te maken. Eentje daarvan bereikt het Sundance Film Festival en daar wordt zijn carrière geboren.

De films van Wes Anderson zijn niet voor het grote publiek gemaakt, maar liefhebbers zullen genieten van ongemakkelijke komedies als The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, The Darjeeling Limited, stop motion project Fantastic Mr. Fox en Moonrise Kingdom.
