Duistere nachtmerrie op onheilspellend eiland.
Shutter Island is alweer de vierde film waarin Martin Scorsese en Leonardo DiCaprio hun krachten bundelen. Alleen voor zijn hoofdrol in The Aviator in 2005 werd DiCaprio genomineerd voor een Oscar, maar won niet. Scorsese won wel een Oscar voor The Departed in 2007. Werpt deze combinatie nu zijn vruchten?
