12 Years A Slave grote winnaar Image Awards

12 Years A Slave is de grote winnaar geworden van de NAACP Image Awards.

De National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) geeft ieder jaar de Image Awards aan de belangrijkste zwarte mensen in de Amerrikaanse entertainmentindustrie. De belangrijkste prijzen gingen dit jaar naar 12 Years A Slave. De film kreeg de prijs voor beste film, beste regie (Steve McQueen), beste script (John Ridley) en beste vrouwelijke bijrol (Lupita Nyong'o).

Ook The Butler had succes. De film, geregisseerd door Lee Daniels, won voor beste acteur (Forest Whitaker) en voor beste acteur in een bijrol (David Oyelowo). Beste actrice werd Angela Bassett, voor haar rol in Black Nativity.

In de televisiecategorieën was Scandal de grote winnaar. De show werd verkozen tot beste dramaserie en Kerry Washington tot beste tv-actrice. Komiek Kevin Hart, die we binnenkort kunnen zien in Ride Along, werd verkozen tot entertainer van het jaar.
